The National Weather Service in Paducah is monitoring the possibility for heavy rain and flooding during the middle of this week.
Forecasters say several systems will move through the area Wednesday and Thursday and there will be plenty of moisture to work with to produce rainfall that could be heavy at times.
Widespread amounts of two-to-four inches of rain are expected and four-to-six inches will be possible in areas that experience thunderstorms.
The end result will be a risk for considerable flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas. The region will likely see rising water levels on area rivers, creeks and small streams.
