Murray State’s Ja Morant won the OVC Player of the Week award. In two wins over Eastern Illinois and SIU-Edwardsville, Morant averaged 33.5 points, 10.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.0 rebounds/game. In Saturday’s win over SIU-E, Morant became the first Division I player in the past 20 years to have 40 points, 11 assists and five steals in a game.
The sophomore hit 21-of-21 free throws in the game, establishing a new OVC record for most made free throws in a game without a miss Murray State is back in action Thursday night, hosting Belmont at the CFSB Center.
