The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports today former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher/outfielder Rick Ankiel is considering coming out of retirement. The 39-year-old has not played in the major leagues since 2013 but pitched in the Bluegrass World Series in Louisville this summer. He faced one batter and struck him out. The Post reports the Cardinals are talking with Ankiel, currently a part time Cardinals broadcaster, about joining the team.
