The Hopkinsville Art Guild is offering artists in the area an opportunity to capture painted images of downtown Hopkinsville with a fun and fast-paced, three hour painting contest.
Officials say it will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th and it is open to people to all ages, professional and amateur. There will be cash prizes offered for adults over age 18: $250 first place, $150 second place and $100 third place.
Winning students under the age of 18 will receive art supplies. First place will receive a French easel, second place will receive a set of oil or acrylic paints, and third place will receive a set of canvases and brushes.
Advanced registration is requested by October 1, but not required. The registration fee for adults is $15 and students under 18 is $5.
All participants must be registered and have canvases stamped before they begin painting.
All painting must be completed during the three hour time frame. Artists must bring all of their own supplies.
The judge for the event is Danielle Muzina, Assistant Professor of Art and Design, at Murray State University.
