A man sought on warrants is facing new charges after he fought with officers who were taking him into custody Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police were called to a disturbance at a Younglove Street location and found 23-year old Devon Williamson, who was very upset according to the report.
Officers knew Williamson was wanted on warrants for failing to appear in court and began to make the arrest. Police say he struggled with them, said he was going to have to be tazed “once or twice” and that he elbowed officer in the face.
He continued fighting with officers at the jail, but the report says he later admitted he made the entire situation more difficult by acting the way he did.
In addition to being served with the warrants, Williamson is charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
