The Alhambra Theatre celebrated its 90th birthday Monday evening and the building remains a hub of activity after nine decades.
The Live at the Alhambra schedule was unveiled at the party and the season begins Friday, November 9th with jazz vocalist Jaimee Paul returning to the theatre. The Jive Aces will perform Saturday, December 1st, The Coasters and Drifters on Saturday, February 2nd, the Secret Sisters Saturday, February 9th and there’s an unconfirmed April 12th date for Rhiannon Giddens.
Mayor Carter Hendricks and Museum Executive Director Alissa Keller were among those joining Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Magaret Prim in speaking to a large crowd who took time out of their holiday to attend and got to see a preview of what the facility will look like after renovations.
Classic Movies at the Alhambra return with the Polar Express on December 8th at 7 p.m., followed by showings of Holiday Inn, Elf, Christmas Vacation and It’s a Wonderful Life before Christmas.
