Jeffers Bend Environmental Center will be playing host to the inaugural Water Festival on May 12, which coincides with National Drinking Water Week.
Jeffers Bend Steering Committee Chair Charles Turner appeared on WHOP recently and says he is excited to have this event, which will have a slew of activities for people of all ages to celebrate clean water.
It will take place May 12 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Turner says it’s a joint effort between multiple entities that will teach people about the process of making water consumable.
There will games, educational booths, food vendors and presenters. Turner says at 4 p.m. that day they will host a water trivia game, followed by drawings for prizes. National Drinking Water Week takes place the week of May 6 and the Water Festival will end the festivities.
