Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks expects ground to be broken early this summer on expansion of the Greenway walking trail.
The rail trail will expand south and east from the Pardue Lane trailhead and Mayor Hendricks says there’s still work to do on how the trail will cross Country Club Lane and Lafayette Road.
Elsewhere in the city, Mayor Hendricks says adverse weather has slowed construction on the Sportsplex and expansion to the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
Construction of the Second Street Park has also been hindered by wet weather, according to the mayor, who also announced during an appearance on the Early Bird Show that he will give his annual budget address on May 4.
