A rear-end collision on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County just after midnight Wednesday morning sent a woman and child to the hospital.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department says 62-year old Martha McKnight of St. Charles was headed south very slowly due to heavy rain when she was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 57-year old Kathy Simms of Providence, who said she didn’t see McKnight’s car because of the weather.
McKnight and a juvenile passenger of Simms were taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville for treatment of injuries.
