Ninth District state Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke serves on the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee and says he’ll be looking over cuts to state agencies included in Governor Matt Bevin’s proposed budget.
Bevin’s plan calls for eliminating 70 agencies across the state and Representative Dossett says he will be studying the proposal closely.
The Governor’s budget calls for 6.25-percent spending reductions to most agencies to free up money for the pensions and Dossett is enthusiastic about making the full required contribution in this budget cycle.
Approximately $3.3 billion would go toward the state’s retirement system for state workers and public school teachers, under the governor’s proposed budget.
