Kentucky State Police have been handing out awards recently, recognizing troopers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, including for Post 2.
According to a news release, the annual Sworn Awards highlights those who are dedicated to protecting the 120 Kentucky Counties. Post 2 represents Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster Counties and this year, Hopkinsville native Tyler Hancock was named the 2025 Post 2 Trooper of the Year.
Hancock is a two-year veteran of the agency, and before that, served with the Hopkinsville Police Department.
Detective Jacob Stephens was named the 2025 Post 2 Detective of the Year, and he is a 10-year veteran of the agency.
In 2025, KSP responded to 532,600 calls for assistance, conducted thousands of wellness checks during dangerous weather conditions, protected children from online predators, secured justice for victims, and assisted local law enforcement agencies as needed.
