HCC student chosen to serve on KCTCS Board of Regents

A Hopkinsville Community College Nursing student has been elected to serve on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents, to strengthen student voices on that board.

According to a news release, Jessica Jones will step into the role and brings a very active student life with her—she ended an associate of arts and an associate of applied science degree at HCC, before continuing her education at Western Kentucky University. In 2025, Jones returned to HCC to earn her certified nursing assistant certification and is now pursuing an associate degree in nursing, with plans to begin working as a registered nurse while continuing toward a doctoral degree.

At the same time, she’s also a mother of three homeschooled children, serves as the president of the student government association and treasurer of the Hopkinsville chapter of the Kentucky Association of Nursing Students.

Jones says, “As KCTCS Student Regent, I am dedicated to making sure every student is heard and represented. I’m proud to represent more than 120,000 KCTCS students, and I’m committed to listening closely and advocating for the concerns and experiences of all students.”

Another HCC student was elected serve as well, with Caitlin Delph was chosen to serve on Intellectual Properties Committee.
