Curtis returning to Murray High School as AD

Former Christian County High School boys’ head basketball coach Dior Curtis has been named the Murray High School Athletic Director.

Curtis, a former Murray High School boys’ basketball coach, told WHOP Sports today that his first day on the new job will be July 1, and he is excited to get back to the Murray community.

“Murray was a place I came to as an 18-year-old and at first in college I had no idea about coaching or doing anything and got into coaching and this community so for me and my family it’s going to be great,” Curtis said.

Curtis coached the Tigers from 2017-24 and led the team to the 2022 Region 1 championship. In 2024, he took over the Christian County Colonels’ head coaching position. He coached at Christian County for two seasons, leading the Colonels to a district championship and two Region 2 tournament appearances. He applied for the Christian County Tigers’ Head Coaching position, but the school system ultimately hired Kerry Stovall.

Murray’s current athletics director, Ann Greenfield, will be the district athletic director beginning July 1, and Curtis said he will be the high school athletic director.

Curtis said he and his family are excited about returning to a familiar place.

“My familiy gets to go back to a familiar place, and you know, I still get to have the opportunity to have a positive impact on kids in this community where I’ve had a really good coaching run,” he said. “It’s going to be good, you know for me, a different platform. But I get to be in the school system and do things at a place where I like.”
