The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is inviting the community help them welcome Major Jason Swain as the new Corps Officer leading local operations.
While Major Jason Swain officially takes over on June 22, a special welcome Sunday Service will be held on Sunday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army of Hopkinsville at 310 East Seventh Street. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
Major Swain brings more than four decades of connection to the local office and 28 years of experience as a Salvation Army officer. He has worked in both local and regional capacities, and he calls his journey into ministry a calling.
He says, “New appointments are an opportunity to connect with new people and experience a new city environment. Each city has its unique strengths and local flavors. I’m excited to experience both of these. Officership is a calling, and one never expects that God will call you, but He does. One day I heard a voice clearly say that I was needed, and so I went.”
