The Allegre Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating, after a record-breaking auction and BBQ Spring Fundraiser last weekend.
The department, which is made up of entirely volunteers, was host to a good chunk of the community last Saturday as folks gathered to eat good food, have fun in a live auction and fellowship with each other. There were activities for children and a lengthy auction that brought good cheer to the crowd.
At the end of the event, the department reported that the community helped them raise $25,727.91, and they sold a tanker truck for $8,000.
The money raised goes right back into supporting the department and the volunteers who serve their community with their whole hearts—which means it also helps support the Allegre community itself. The board says it would have been possible without the generosity of the community, and they wanted to thank all who attended for their support.
