Madisonville named a 2025 Tree City

The Arbor Day Foundation has named the City of Madisonville as a 2025 Tree City.

That recognition comes in time for the 50th anniversary of the Tree City USA program, and the recognition highlights Madisonville’s commitment to the planting, care and overall celebration of trees. A news release states that, in an era where cities and towns are facing increasing challenges related to air quality, public health and climate resilience, nurturing urban forests has never been more important.

Since 1976, the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program has recognized thousands of communities of all sizes that have created and maintained green spaces.

The Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation, Dan Lambe, says the Foundation believes that cities that take of their trees, also take care of their people.
