Christian Co. Judge-Executive talks move to Impact Waste Services

The move is now taking place—with the Christian County Fiscal Court accepting a new residential trash pick up service for county residents, folks aren’t wasting time getting signed up for the new service.

Magistrates approved a bid to move from GFL, the current service provider, which will end on July 1, which means folks will need to close their GFL account and move to the provider, which will be Impact Waste Services. Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says he was pleased that this shaped out to be cheaper for everyone involved, including residents.

He says this will affect residents who live in the unincorporated portions of the county, and Crofton, Hopkinsville, Oak Grove and Pembroke residents are not affected by the change.

The judge says this decision wasn’t made flippantly—many different providers were considered—but ultimately they determine that Impact Waste was their best choice.

You’ll need to make sure your bills are paid and accounts settled with GFL through June, and you’ll need to contact Impact Waste before July 1 to start your account there. Judge Gilliam says they are based out of Hopkins County, so the routes and pick-up schedule may change.
