The University Heights Academy baseball team is preparing for Thursday afternoon’s first-round game in the KHSAA State Tournament against Region 14 champion Wolfe County.
The team left Hopkinsville Tuesday morning and went to Lindsey Wilson University where it held practice and had lunch. From there, the Blazers went to Georgetown where they spent the night.
Today, UHA will practice at George Rogers Clark High School and make a visit to Legends Field to get acclimated to the stadium.
From there, Head Coach Michael Crow said the team will get locked in for Thursday’s game.
The seventh-ranked Blazers enter the game 29-8 on the season while the Wolves are 24-10. Wolfe County is making its second straight appearance in the state tournament and advanced to the quarterfinals last year where it lost to Boyd County 2-1.
UHA is making its first appearance in the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament.
First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central Time and airtime will be at 3:30 p.m. with an extended pregame show on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
