A sendoff party was held Monday night at Chick-fil-A for the University Heights Academy baseball team, which will head to Lexington today in preparation for Thursday’s first round game at the KHSAA State Basebell Tournament.
The seventh-ranked Blazers are scheduled to play Region 14 winner Wolfe County at 4 p.m. at Legends Field.
Senior Thomas Hallmark, who saved UHA with a great pitching performance last week in the region semifinals against Madisonville, said the Blazers are getting a total team effort to reach this point.
UHA is 29-8 on the season while the Wolves enter the game at 24-10. Airtime for Thursday’s game is 3:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
