A Louisiana native and a Tennessee native are the latest two baseball players announced Thursday for the Hoptown Hoppers’ 2026 roster.
Evan Jacob, a catcher with the United States Sports Academy, is coming off a season where he hit .284 with five home runs and had 38 RBI with 24 runs scored. Jacob is from Chalmette, La.
Jacob is the fourth player coming to the Hoppers from the United State Sports Academy. He joins teammates Dom Hartman, Kade Wall, and Evan Woodward on this year’s Hoppers’ squad.
Meanwhile, Chapel Hill, Tenn., native Brennan Mealer, of Vol State, also will join the Hoppers this summer. Mealer is a left-handed pitcher/first baseman/outfielder.
