The May 19th Primary Election is right on our heels, and starting Thursday, you can already start casting your ballot as a part of early voting in Kentucky.
Anyone can vote early without needing a qualifying reason May 14, May 15 and May 16, and Christian County Clerk Melinda Humphries urged folks to get out and vote at one of three early voting locations and let their voices be heard in local, state and federal elections.
You can cast your vote early at the James E. Bruce Convention Center, the Senior Citizen’s Center and the Walnut Street Center in Hopkinsville from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. If you’re in Todd County, you can vote early at the Todd County Courthouse from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and if you live in Trigg County, vote early at the Emergency Operations Center at 39 Jefferson Street from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Then on Tuesday, the polls open at 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. at 13 polling places in Christian County, where several local races will be decided, including Christian County Sheriff, Property Valuation Administrator, several Hopkinsville City Council seats, a few Christian Fiscal Court seats, and who will go on to face Markeeta Oldham-Wilkerson and Desaepa Vansauwa in the race for Mayor of Hopkinsville.
At the federal level, a big race is unfolding to see who will be the one to replace outgoing Republican U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
