The Hopkinsville High School tennis teams split their girls’ and boys’ matches with visiting Lyon County Monday afternoon at the Ruff Park Tennis Courts.
Hopkinsville won all four singles matches on the way to a 5-1 victory over the Lady Lyons.
Chiani Leak, Brooke Stewart, Evelyn Bangart, and Courtney Scott all won singles matches for the Lady Tigers. Leak and Stewart also teamed to pick up a doubles win for Hoptown.
For the boys, Aiden Riley blanked the Lyons’ Joe Ellsworth 8-0 in the No. 1 singles match, but Lyon won the final two matches of the day for a 2-1 victory over the Tigers.
The deciding match was came in the lone doubles match as Lyon’s Jesus Tomos and Sebastian Venuelva defeated Aiden Riley and Jaise Riley, 8-1.
