HCCPL Youth Librarian receives statewide recognition

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is celebrating after Youth Services Librarian Kiwana Bridges was recognized as one of the Kentucky Public Library Association’s Fresh Faces of 2026.

The Association’s Fresh Faces Program spotlights public librarians across Kentucky whose ideas and contributions support their library’s outreach efforts.

According to the public library, Bridges has created new programs, including monthly “Fandom Frenzy” events, “Sensory Storytime,” and “Dungeons and Dragons: Teen Edition.”

Bridges was surprised to receive the award and said she loves her job, and calls being recognized for her work one of the proudest moments of her life. She also said that the award has given her the kick she needs to feel more confident about what she can accomplish.
