Hopkinsville Police arrested 21-year-old Lartavion Baker of Hopkinsville after he reportedly choked and struck a minor on Monday.
Officers responded to a residence on South Main Street for a welfare check on a 16-year-old female minor. She told officers that her and Baker got into an argument and he reportedly grabbed her by the throat with both hands and strangled her until she almost passed out.
Baker then allegedly slapped the victim multiple times. The victim was able to get free from Baker’s grip, but when she attempted to leave the residence, he blocked her exit.
Baker was charged with first-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault.
