In the midst of clean up from Winter Storm Fern, Congressman James Comer made a couple of stops in western Kentucky, handing out funding to support local projects.
First stop, the City of Madisonville, where Congressman Comer announced a $1 million investment into the City of Madisonville’s West Side Lift Station, with the intent to modernize sewer lines, replace outdated lift stations, increase overall capacity and reliability of the wastewater system as the city continues to grow.
He also announced $750,000 in funding for the South Hopkins Water District to support the waterline replacement project.
Then over in Lyon County, the congressman announced $1 million in federal appropriations to help jump start a $20 million wastewater treatment facility in Eddyville. This comes as a long-term solution to major system failures at the Eddyville Wastewater Treatment Plant.
