Young Lady Colonels take 4th at Region 1 Swim Meet

A young, but talented Christian County Lady Colonels’ swim team completed its final season in school history on Monday at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center at Hopkinsville High School.

The Lady Colonels scored 197 points and finished fourth in the Region 1 Swim Meet. The team did not have any swimmers advance to this weekend’s Semi State 1 Meet at Bowling Green.

Seventh grader Lola Renshaw had the top finish of the day for the Lady Colonels. She took third place in the 100-yard Butterfly.

Sophomore Addison Renshaw grabbed a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard Breaststroke. Seventh grader Gracelyn Clark was fifth in the 200-yard Freestyle.

Meanwhile, the 400-yard freestyle relay team made up of middle schoolers Lia Beckham, Lola Renshaw, Macy McGinnis, and Madison Spain finished third.

The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Addison Peck, Addison Renshaw, Lola Renshaw, and Clark took fifth.

The 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of Peck, Addison Renshaw, Clark, and McGinnis also finished fifth.

Hopkinsville won the meet with 357 points to easily take the victory ahead of Henderson County (265), and Murray (228).

Hopkinsville and Christian County Head Coach Keith Marquess was named Region 1 Coach of the Year after the meet.
