In September 2025, members of the United Way of the Pennyrile announced their goal to raise $715,000 to support regional nonprofits, and in February, the community is invited to celebrate the campaign’s conclusion and find out how much was money raised.
For its 2025-26 fundraiser, the local United Way is raising funds to support 16 partner agencies across Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties. Some of those organizations are the Hopkinsville-Christian County Boys and Girls Club, Sanctuary, Inc., Trace Industries and Aaron McNeil House.
To spotlight the campaign and the upcoming celebration, United Way Executive Director Melanie Noffsinger and campaign Co-Chairs Bri Smith and Abigail Landrum appeared on WHOP on Thursday.
Noffsinger says the celebration kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on February 10 at the Silo Event Center and is free to attend. At the celebration, awards will be given out to donors and the final fundraising total will be announced.
For each donor division a Chairman’s Award and a Spirit Award will be given out. Spirit Awards are given to organizations with the largest donation increase and Chairman’s Awards are given to organizations that donated the most within each division.
The United Way is still accepting donations, and Landrum says those donations help keep these vital programs alive.
Those interested in donating can do so online at pennyrileunitedway.org or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 587 Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
