The Christian County Cattlemen’s Association is calling on the community to help them support a local young man, Chase Pemberton, who is in the midst of battling leukemia.
Pemberton was diagnosed with cancer in April of last year, and he’s been putting up a strong fight ever since, traveling to Nashville and Texas to receive treatments. Speaking with WHOP Wednesday morning, Jack Orem with the Association says they wanted to support Chase and his family in some meaningful way, and they decided to do a sack lunch fundraiser.
Now, Wednesday, January 28 is the deadline to get your orders in, which can be made by calling 270-886-6328 and Orem says you can make those orders late into the night.
They’ll get all the orders in line and then the cooking and pick-up date for those lunches—which includes a porkchop sandwich from the Bar-B-Que Shack—will be February 4.
Orem says Chase has a long life ahead of him, after he beats this cancer, and they want to help him not be burdened by medical bills in the future.
The pick-up location for lunches will be the Ag. Extension Office at 2850 Pembroke Road in Hopkinsville, with early pick ups available upon request. Cash or check will be accepted, and the order form to support the cause can also be found here or on the Christian County Cattlemen’s Association Facebook page.
