Christian Co. Justice Center to be closed to proceedings Monday

In the face of brutally cold temperatures and likely wintry accumulations, the decision has been made to go ahead and close the Christian County Justice Center for Monday, January 26.

The decision was made Friday, with Christian County Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins announcing that even if it doesn’t accumulate like they expect it will, the frigid temperatures would be enough of a reason to close for the day.

He says they’ll keep an eye on the weather and see if they need any additional closures next week, though he says they’ll try their hardest to keep the court system operating smoothly. Circuit Court Clerk Paige Parker’s office is sending out proper notice of continuances for court cases—but if you have court scheduled and want to be sure, give their office a call at 270-889-6539.

There are likely many such events and businesses that will be impacted by the winter weather, so stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for any closures that may come up.
