One killed, one badly injured in two separate house fires in Madisonville

Two house fires in Madisonville are under investigation after one resulted in severe injuries and another in a fatality on Monday. 

According to the Madisonville Police Department, they don’t believe the two fires to be connected at this time.  The first happened at approximately 10 a.m. in the 400 block of Alan Drive after neighbors reported hearing an explosion. Crews arrived the house fully involved in fire.

One 64-year-old male victim was found deceased inside the home, with the cause of the fire under investigation.

The second house fire occurred in the 200 block of West Arch Street just after noon. There were two people inside at the time of the blaze that were evacuated, with one person sustaining severe burns. He was transported to the hospital for treatment, and an investigation underway. 

The names of those involved have not yet been released.
