A Dawson Springs teenage was injured in a crash between a passenger car and a horse and buggy in Caldwell County on Monday.

According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, the collision happened on Hopkinsville Road near the 4-mile-marker, where investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 35-year-old Jaime Campbell of Elkton struck the back of a horse-drawn buggy while they were both heading southbound.

A 17-year-old from Dawson Springs was thrown from the buggy and sustained several injuries, but ultimately declined treatment.

The horse was not injured in the crash. The sheriff’s department is reminding folks to slow it down in the mornings, especially when the sun is in your eyes, and help make it a safer holiday season for all.
