The Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County is celebrating, after one of their own was recently named the 2025 Boys and Girls Club Midwest Region Program Staff of the Year.
This prestigious honor was awarded to Amanda Neilsen, who has served at the club for many years and has been a driving force behind innovative programs that support academic success, mental health and healthy life styles. According to a news release, her ability to build meaningful relationships with youth and families, mentor fellow staff, and lead with passion has made a lasting impact on the Club and the community it serves.
This award is designed to recognize program professionals who go above and beyond to create safe, engaging and transformative experiences for the youth.
Nielsen says, “I am incredibly honored and grateful for this recognition. Working with young people is both a privilege and a responsibility, and I’m thankful to be part of an organization that believes so deeply in creating great futures for every child.”
