University Heights Academy gave first-year head coach Jordan Grace his first varsity basketball win Thursday night as the Blazers trounced host Heritage Christian Academy 63-23 in a District 8 game.
UHA improved to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in district play. Meanwhile, the Warriors slipped to 0-5 on the season and 0-1 in district play.
The Blazers were playing without two regular starters, Hayden Hunt and Keyshawn Moore, but Nash McAfee took up the slack as he poured in 18 points in the win. Ryan Luckey added 12 for UHA, which returns to action Monday night at Henderson County.
Noah Arvin had a career-high 16 points to lead the Warriors, who return to action Monday night at home against Clarksville Christian.
