The Christian County Colonels were all six and seven Monday night as they routed visiting Madisonville-North Hopkins 67-40 in a boys’ high school basketball game.
Madisonville’s Lake Sumner hit a basket to give the Maroons a 10-9 lead about halfway through the first quarter. But Frank Pollard Jr. and Rahsean Stevenson helped the Colonels (2-1) got on a 6-0 run to end the quarter.
Christian County was never threatened again as its full-court press bothered the Madisonville guards all night long.
After leading 37-25 at halftime, the Colonels outscored the Maroons 17-5 in the third quarter and led by as much as 30 points in the fourth quarter.
Stevenson scored 18 points and Pollard added 11 for the Colonels, which broke a nine-game losing streak to the Maroons (0-2).
Christian County returns to action at 3:30 p .m. Saturday against Evangel Christian in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Classic at Hopkinsville High School. The game will air at 3:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
