Caldwell Co. Judge-Executive announces he will not seek re-election

Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young has announced that he will not be running for reelection that position, after starting a political career in Caldwell County as a 24-year-old.

Young has served the community both as the Mayor of Princeton and the County Judge-Executive, and he says his appreciation for the opportunities the people have given him to serve will never dim.  But he says all chapters must come to an end, and he has decided not to seek reelection.

He says, β€œIn my opinion, there is only one cardinal sin specific to the political class – thou shalt not run for office, just to be in office.”

With a little over a year left to his term, Young says he will spend every day with the same level of excitement and dedication that he has served with for nearly a decade, with plans to leave the County in strong financial standing, while keeping a group of projects underway to better the county.

So far, no one has filed their paperwork to fill that seat, with the deadline to file January 9.
