The Christian County and Hopkinsville high school cross-country teams held their end of the year banquets.
The two teams, who competed as separate teams, but trained as one, had 90 personal records set during the 2025 season.
For Christian County, Gracelyn Clark was named Best Female Athlete and Lucas Coats was named Best Male Athlete. Clark missed qualifying for state by only 32 seconds. Coats placed 23rd on the all-time fastest 5K time in school history.
Other Lady Colonels receiving awards included Eliza McLaughlin (Most Improved) and Aubree Cline (Iron Will), who posted the 19th fastest 5K time in school history.
Colonels picking up awards included Cayden Cline (Iron Will), who finished 11 on the fastest 5K time in school history, and Bryce Hamlin (Most Improved).
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers were honored for making their third straight state championship finals. Lauren Mayes was named Most Valuable Runner and also picked up the Best Grade Point Average award and earned her Captain’s pin and varsity bar. Mayes was second fastest 5K time and sixth all-time state finish in school history.
Alexis Herrera-Lovato (Most Improved) had the sixth fastest 5K time and 11th-best state finish in school history.
Evelyn Bangart, Kayden Coats, and Amerah Acree and Luanna Acree each earned their varsity bar.
For the Tigers, Tyson Cavinder was named Most Valuable Male Runner. He had the second fastest 5K time and fifth-best finish at the state meet in school history. Cavinder also earned his Captain’s Pin and varsity bar.
Fernando Ginez-Rojas picked up the Most Improved Award and Savior Davis received his varsity bar.
Levi Johnston and Jesus Tomas earned varsity letters and LaMarion Jeffers earned his varsity bar.
This was the final season as Christian County Colonels and Hopkinsville Tigers. The two schools will consolidate in the fall of 2026.
