Pleasant fall weather in store this week, before rain and cold brings freezing conditions this weekend

This week will bring with it mostly pleasant fall weather, with chilly temperatures at night and mild temperatures during the day, before a couple of cold fronts really drop things down.

In fact, this area could be in store for its first hard freeze of this season, with Meteorologist Keith Cooley saying that some rain and storms will roll through this weekend, plunging temperatures well below freezing to start things off next Monday.

If it does freeze, that will officially bring the growing season to an end. While temperatures will be in the 70’s for most of the week, a cold front will push through Friday, following by another late Saturday.  Both will bring rain chances, and while Cooley says a strong storm or two can’t be ruled out, the chance for severe weather remains low at this time.

There’s been speculation online about possible snow in the air on Monday or Tuesday of next week, but Cooley isn’t convinced—he says it’s simply too far out to say if it will snow or not, but anything that did fall wouldn’t be impactful.

In the 8-to-14 day look, cold haters can breathe a sigh of relief, because the data is showing warmer than average temperatures in store, along with above average chances for precipitation.
