Lady Blazers sweep past Crittenden County

University Heights Academy returned from fall break and knocked off visiting Crittenden County 3-0 in a high school volleyball match.

The Lady Blazers improved to 11-17 on the season with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 victory.

“It was a very impressive performance from my team,” UHA coach Faye Hendricks said. “We hit and blocked like I have not seen all year.”

Gretchen Durham had 15 assists, two blocks, seven digs, and two kills and Megan Long added two blocks, three kills, and seven digs.

Niyona Brown had an impressive game at the net with four blocks and four kills. Niyati Patel also had five digs and three kills. Kylee Grace added a block and four kills.

UHA seeks its third straight victory as it returns to action tonight at home against Graves County.
