With the regional cross country meets only a couple of weeks away, Hopkinsville High School’s Lauren Mayes and Kaydon Coats look to be in near top form.
Mayes ran seventh in the Arrowhead Invitational Saturday at Union County High School. The senior completed the Girls’ 5,000-meter course in a time of 22:21. Meanwhile, Coats earned an 18th-place finish with a time of 24:05.
In the Boys’ 5,000-meter run, only three Tigers ran in the race.
Fernando Ginez-Rojas was the top Hoptown runner with a time of 22:16, which was good enough for 63rd place.
Jesus Tomas was 86th in 26:00 and Jacob Carter took 95th in 36:13.
The teams were shorthanded due to the Fall break and some runners were out of town.
