Local animal shelter invites community to Halloween adoption event

To get into the Halloween spirit and also help folks find that special furry family member, the Christian County Regional Shelter is hosting its annual Howl-O-Ween Adoption Event to adopt pets out and raise money for the Get Em’ Done Program.

Shelter Director Melissa Goff shared that the adoption prices for all of their pets will be $50 and they will also be offering discounted nail trims and microchipping services.

The event will include a variety of vendors including other local pet rescues such as Moving Mountains for Mastiffs, Haven 12:10 Animal Sanctuary and Max’s Hope Pet Rescue. The shelter will also be food and craft vendors.

Funds raised during the event will go toward the Get Em’ Done Program which help get the shelter animals spayed and neutered. In the future, Goff says she would like to expand the program to offer low cost spay and neuter operations for pets from the general public.

Goff says she is looking forward to the event and seeing the shelter animals find their forever homes.

The Howl-O-Ween Adoption Event takes over the shelter on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and kiddos are invited to wear their costumes.
