It was a showdown among two of the top boys’ soccer teams in western Kentucky on Tuesday night as the University Heights Academy Blazers played host to Marshall County.
In the end, it was the Blazers who came away with a 2-1 victory in defensive battle that kept fans on their seats until the end.
Jayden Williamson gave the Blazers a 1-0 lead on an assist by Cal Givens. Hayden Hunt provided the winning goal on an assist from Graham Conrad.
Hayden Fitzsimmons preserved the win by stopping seven shots in goal.
The Blazers improve to 13-5 after their third straight win. They will complete their regular season Thursday night at home against Hopkins County Central.
