Local grand jury issues indictments for assault crimes

A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for assault related crimes on Friday.

Twenty-five-year-old Dalton Lewis of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault domestic violence after he reportedly struck a victim and choked them during an altercation on July 30.

Fifty-year-old John Smith II of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree strangulation, second-degree assault and first-degree possession of a controlled substance following an incident on July 14.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jesse Wallace of Bowling Green was indicted for third-degree rape after he reportedly had sexual intercourse with an individual who was less than 16 years of age in November 2020.
