The high school golf season ended for all the area golfers on Monday at the Girls’ KHSAA State Golf Tournament First Round at the Calvert City Country Club.
University Heights Academy was represented by two golfers in the event.
Campbell Lindsey shot a 92 and finished tied for 48th place in the tournament. She missed qualifying for next week’s state tournament by seven strokes. Meanwhile, teammate Allie Sandifer carded a 94 and finished tied for 57th place. She was nine shots from qualifying for the final round.
UHA coach Brandon Grace said both girls had good seasons, but just came up a little short of making next week’s KHSAA State Tournament in Bowling Green.
Marshall County’s Trinity Beth won Monday’s event with a 5-under-par 67 to defeat Daviess County’s Claire Reynolds by five strokes.
Bowling Green won the team title with a 321, two shots better than Daviess County. Marshall County was third with a 326.
