Lady Colonels earn hard fought volleyball win over HCA

Christian County and Heritage Christian Academy squared off in an important District 8 volleyball match Monday night at Warrior Gym.

It was the Lady Colonels who came out victories 3-1 and remained undefeated in the district standings as the season nears an end.

Christian County rolled to a 25-14 win in the opening set only to see the Lady Warriors bounce back to win 25-16.

However, the Lady Colonels proved to be too tough, earning 25-21, 25-14 wins in the final two sets to grab the match.

Christian County improved to 15-13 overall and 4-0 in district play with the win. The Lady Colonels did not have statistics reported from the match and are scheduled to play tonight at Henderson County.

Meanwhile, HCA, which was celebrating homecoming, fell to 12-15 overall and 3-2 in district play.

Hadlee Hayes led the Lady Warriors with eight kills and nine digs. Bralee Fowler had seven kills, 13 digs and two blocks. Makenzie McCarty provided 12 digs and 21 assists and Taylor Barbee had 11 digs and three kills.

Allie Craft had 14 digs and Hannah Phelps provided three kills.

HCA is scheduled to play host to Hopkinsville tonight in a District 8 match.
