Jack Leek of the Hopkinsville Police Department was one of 23 law enforcement officers from across Kentucky to graduate from the Academy of Police Supervision (APS) Class 104 on September 29.

Often referred to as the sergeant’s academy, the APS is a three-week, 122-hour leadership course designed for newly promoted sergeants or officers preparing for supervisory roles. The program focuses on leadership skills, ethical decision-making, emotional intelligence and constitutional law.

Governor Andy Beshear congratulated the graduates, saying, thanks to their dedication, Kentucky’s communities are safer and the people feel safer.

Leek’s graduation adds to the Hopkinsville Police Department’s roster of officers trained in the supervisory leadership.
