Hopkinsville woman arrested after her children were found living in filthy conditions

Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Destiny Ulmer of Hopkinsville Friday morning after a search of her home unveiled that her children were living in filthy conditions.

According to a report, a 17-year-old minor entered the sheriff’s office and reported that they consumed narcotics from Ulmer’s home and needed medical attention. At Ulmer’s residence, deputies made contact with her two children and found that they were living in poor conditions.

Deputies reported that the home emitted strong odors of urine and found feces underneath beds and drug paraphernalia. The Department of Community Based Services (DCBS) had already responded to Ulmer’s residence and third child was already scheduled for removal.

In order to fully search the residence safely, deputies had put on coverall suits with respirators. Following the search, DCBS removed the two other children in the home. Ulmer was charged with four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
