Motorcyclist injured in deer-involved crash on Russellville Road

A motorcyclist was injured in a crash involving a deer on U.S. 68 early Tuesday morning.

According to the report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, 49-year-old Lenzie Coleman of Hopkinsville was operating a motorcycle westbound on Russellville Road around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when a deer entered his path.

Coleman attempted to avoid a collision but was unable to, colliding with the deer in the 3500 block of Russellville Road. 

The motorcycle fell onto its side and slid approximately 500 feet before coming to a stop, with Coleman still on board.

Coleman was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his hands, arms and legs.
