Summer Salute takes over downtown Hopkinsville weekend of September 12

The big event is almost here—Hopkinsville’s Summer Salute Festival is only a couple of weekends away, and the public is invited to enjoy a weekend of live music, carnival rides and numerous vendors.

It all gets started on September 12 when the gates open at 11 a.m. in downtown Hopkinsville, and Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson and Program Coordinator Jacob Gibson says they’ll have all the town favorites on hand with food trucks, beverage and merchandise vendors, activities for families and much more.

The live music starts Friday night with Saved By the Music at 6 p.m. and then at 8 p.m. it’s Shining Star, a Tribute to Earth, Wind and Fire before the festival wraps up at 10 p.m. for night one.

But then the gates are back open at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, and Hudson says Parks and Recreation couldn’t be more excited by The Frontmen taking the stage at 6 p.m. and then headline act Easton Corbin takes over at 8 p.m.

The foot print on the festival has gotten a little larger this year to accommodate all of the vendors and activity spaces—for a full map and schedule of events, head online to hoptownsummersalute.com
