Hopkinsville Police investigate pedestrian, ice cream truck collision

Hopkinsville Police are investigating after a pedestrian and an ice cream truck collision on Roney Drive resulted in possible injuries on Tuesday.

Sean Chandler was attempting to flag down an ice cream truck that was driving north on Roney Drive. He reportedly told investigators that he was trying to tell the driver to slow down and to stopping cursing at children who were outside.

The ice cream truck was approaching Chandler when his leg reportedly gave out which led to him being clipped by the vehicle. Chandler was transported to Jennie Stuart medical Center for possible injuries to his neck, lower back and knee.

The driver reportedly failed to stop following the collision and officers are investigating the incident as leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render aid.
