The community is invited to dive into the local art scene at the Hopkinsville Art Guild’s first-ever Christian County Art Loop on Saturday.
The Art Guild is a nonprofit organization that promotes visual arts, hosts workshops and supports local artists. Guild member Anita Cummins says a new member of the guild proposed the idea of the Art Loop as a way to spotlight local artists and their studios. The Art Loop is set to include over 40 artists and 14 locations across town.
Along the Art Loop, folks can connect with local artists and purchase some of their creations. Cummins says some artists will also be hosting demonstrations.
Cummins says Betty Liles Art Studio, L&J Shepherd Art Studio, Chalice Gallery, Susan Bergman Art Studio and The Painted Sheep Art Studio will be five of the pit stops on the Art Loop.
Then local businesses such as the Hopkinsville-Christian County Visitors Bureau, Staton’s Art and Framing, the Hopkinsville Brewing Company, the Alhambra Theatre, Baked, Bella Marie Boutique, The Book and Bottle Shop, Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium and the Pennyrile Area Museum will be destinations on the route.
A wide variety of artists will be displaying their art. The Art Loop will include painters, ceramicists, sculptors, glass crafters, photographers and fiber artists.
The Art Loop is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A map of the self-guided tour is available at hopkinsvilleartguild.org.
